The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission celebrated Jordan`s National Flag Day, today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Commission employees celebrating in the front courtyard of its main building, raising the flag & draped with it.
The Chairman of JIACC, Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, delivered a speech during the ceremony, stressing that we in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan take pride in this flag, which was inspired by the banner of the Great Arab Revolt, launched by Al-Sharif Hussein bin Ali against injustice & tyranny, and symbolizing a nation with a glorious history inherited from the Hashemites to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein; may God protect and preserve him.
He added respecting the flag is a sign of self-respect, and valuing it signifies belonging to the homeland, its identity, & its history, deeply rooted in time and civilizations.
Hijazi said, "We are all Jordanians by identity, Arab by belonging, and loyal Hashemites. We will not deviate from that no matter how great the sacrifices & challenges may be. Our King serves as a role model in defending the borders of this homeland, its security and stability, and in enhancing its path of reform in all aspects of life."
He praised the role of the General Intelligence Department, which professionally tracked down terrorist cells, expertly thwarting their plans to undermine the security and stability of our nation.
These terrorist cells serve agendas aimed at undermining the nation’s resilience in the face of challenges through destruction, sabotage, and the spread of chaos. What the General Intelligence Department has achieved by uncovering and monitoring these cells over several years deserves our deepest appreciation, praise, and recognition.
Such threats, especially evident during this difficult phase, require all of us to remain vigilant and proactive in deterring those who undermine our nation’s security and stability. We must also stand firm in defending our Palestinian brothers’ right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Our steadfast positions regarding them reveal the stances of others.
The celebration—attended by the Commission’s Board members and its Secretary-General—included activities that embodied the spirit of joy and pride in the flag.
